San Francisco City Hall

Piper began her wedding day at the beautiful Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco, her suite boasted of large floor to ceiling windows.

because of this I had the opportunity to connect the view outside to what was happening inside of the suite, but it took a little time and creative posing to do so.

since the light outside was different compared to the light inside we had to use powerful strobes to connect the two exposures, otherwise you would see nothing but white in the city.

Here we lit the bride with a orange gelled strobe and balanced the brides skin tone in camera, a strobe placed to camera right highlighted the decorative beads.

Piper and Andy had their ceremony on the 4th floor wing of San Francisco City Hall, this place is absolutely beautiful!  Click here to learn about reserving a private ceremony which includes the entire 4th floor wing for one hour.  Click here to learn about the wonderful cinematographer we worked with, Vinny Minton!

After the ceremony I went into portrait mode and lit the couple while they posed on the stairs.

The available light portraits always look great in front of the iconic windows on the third floor.

If you have been following my work you know I just love to use my strobe equipment as much as possible.

The front steps to city hall completly say San Francisco.

This reflection portrait of the couple was taken in front of the wine cellar at Alexander Steakhouse.
