The Club at Ruby Hill - A Covid wedding halted, no more

Corinne and Adam had a beautiful wedding planned at The Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton (one of the premiere wedding venues in the East Bay), only to have Covid suspend their special day, but that didn’t stop this couple. See how this story unfolds and how their union of this very day was best explained by the father of the bride, more on this later.

The ladies began the day of celebration in the lounge with a little prewedding bubbly!

Then Corinne stepped out of the lounge to meet her father for the first of two “first looks”, with her sister admiring the moment from afar.

After the father of the bride and the soon to be husband of the bride saw Corinne in her gorgeous wedding dress we then guided Corinne and Adam in a few posed portraits.

Then we headed back up top to the grand entrance of Ruby Hill for bridal party portraits.

My assistant Sergio and I setup lights for the above and below portraits. I photographed both rich colorful and light and airy portrait styles, view our Instagram to see both versions and pick which style you like best. Instagram/JackArentPhoto

the ceremony followed next..

Here we photographed six separate frames and stitched them together in Photoshop for this panoramic image of the ceremony.

During the ceremony we captured a personal moment between both the parents of the bride and groom.

After the ceremony the wedding party headed inside for a group celebration with champagne while the wedding guests remained on the patio for cocktail hour. We used this time to take a quick lit portrait of the newlyweds in the reception while it was still empty.

then we headed back outside for formal bride and groom portraits while the wedding guests entered the reception..

Allen, of Ivoryskymedia and I took turns directing the couple in poses while I took pictures and he shot video.

the formal entrance was next..

the couple went right into the first dance..

time for a few toasts.. The father of the bride had the whole room in laughter as he summed up Corinne and Adam’s Covid wedding path. What he said was, in short, Corinne and Adam were living in Pleasanton when they planned their Ruby Hill wedding only to find themselves having a small immediate family only wedding last year in Lake Tahoe, during the Covid stay at home order (when gatherings over 15 weren’t allowed). When the state imposed stay at home order moratorium was lifted and their Ruby Hill wedding was back on track almost two years later, the couple then found themselves living in Lake Tahoe and traveling to Pleasanton for their original full planned wedding. It’s ironic how both weddings worked out and connect home for this couple…

Towards the end of dinner we headed back outside for sunset formal photos.

the clubhouse is a great place to take pictures after hours, the large wooden doors are impressive!

and the old oak tree with it’s many twists and turns is a staple at Ruby Hill..

here is our creatively lit version which showcases the old oak tree in it’s age and glory..

the cake cutting was called and we quickly headed back inside, which was immediately followed by the bouquet toss.

There was a live band that played classic pop songs that carried the night away.

The sparkler send off closed out a beautiful wedding celebration.

It was great to be Corinne and Adams wedding photographer. We met nearly two years ago, then had a pause on their initial wedding plans due to Covid, only to add more to this couples wedding story. Here are a few pictures from their immediate family wedding last year at the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe.
